Charlotte bounced with joy as she walked up the steps to Adam’s castle. She had never visited a castle before and was overflowing with giddiness as she knocked on the castle door. “Hellooo?” she called out, impatient to get inside.
It was a thin, long nosed butler in cream and shades of yellow who answered the door. He smiled at her broadly and seemed to be checking her out approvingly. “Welcome” he said. “What can I do you for?” he waggled his eyebrows as if he had hoped there was something he specifically could do for her rather then merely lead her inside and to the master.
“Well, hey there Sugah! Ah was wonderin’ if Ah could get a small lil tour o’ ya castle here? Ah nevah really been t’ one an’ Ah am dying t’ see inside! Ah read all ‘em Princess stories as a lil girl and mah oh mah, Ah just saw this castle an’ thought ‘Lottie if ya don’ do up there an’ get a tour, Ah simply will nawt speak wit’ ya fo’ a WEEK.’ So here Ah am!” Charlotte grinned widely at the man in yellow as if her long and drawn-out ramble was a good reason for him to let her into the castle.
The man in yellow raised his eyebrows at this somewhat unusual speech. She was certainly interesting. Actually, that was just what the Master needed! Someone bright and cheery to liven the place up. Belle was kind, and possessed a mellow but genuine sort of joy. This woman however was a bubbly, effervescent sort — like a fruity, light champagne. She might go well with some mild white meat and some fresh greens.
“En chante, mademoiselle, right thees way!” he said with a cheery smile. “I will personally give the grande tour!”
